Dr. Melissa E. Heche is the Doctor of Audiology and Clinical Voice and Swallowing Pathologist of New York Speech and Hearing. She is dually certified in audiology and speech pathology; she has a unique background in music, performance and sound engineering. Her background allows for a distinctive view on sound interpretation and its impact on communication.
Dr. Heche specializes in the assessment and treatment of hearing/auditory disorders, tinnitus, and of voice/vocal fold and swallowing disorders. She is a licensed hearing aid dispenser and uses a whole communication approach to hearing aid dispensing. She provides active hearing conservation programs – particularly within the music industry.
Dr. Heche works closely with the musical and performance community, addressing the needs of musicians and vocalists. She provides seminars regarding vocal health practices to public speakers. She also offers the service of accent reduction for people who speak English as a second language and accent acquisition for actors who may need to learn alternate speech patterns.

Roberta Rabe-O’Connor is the Practice Manager/Office Manager of New York Speech and Hearing. She is dedicated to creating an essential environment to help provide the best hearing and speech healthcare. She is our hearing and speech informant. She processes administrative tasks accurately and efficiently and has built and warm and nurturing office environment. Any questions about your appointment, treatment or insurance? She will more than likely have the answers. Having studied speech pathology and audiology for her undergraduate degree, Ms. Rabe-O’Connor is glad to be working in the field. She is interested in the interconnected nature of hearing and language and is looking to expand her knowledge in ways that will enhance the patient experience.
A born explorer who loves traveling and hiking, she embraces all challenges. Family-oriented herself, she recognizes the importance of good communication within our relationships. Her skills and interests make Ms. Rabe-O’Connor a great addition to New York Speech and Hearing.

Rolliene Mallari is the digital consultant at New York Speech and Hearing. She served as the office manager from 2013-2016, leaving to move to the warm climate of North Carolina and pursue a Master’s degree in Health Informatics. With her experience and her increasing knowledge, she remains a part of the New York Speech and Hearing family by providing counsel for digital, internet and website information.
